Valdez Ice Climbing Festival 2015

Valdez Ice Climbing Festival 2015

Valdez, Alaska hosts one of the oldest ice climbing festivals in North America. Every year, climbers from around the globe gather in this little Alaskan coastal town on Prince William Sound for climbing, clinics, an ice competition, film festival, and the "perennially popular" bonfire spaghetti feed, Alaska style.

The maritime climate of Valdez keeps the temps mild and the ice fat, so there's plenty to go around. Those new to ice climbing can participate in a number of clinics (including a free women's only clinic by She Jumps) and more experience ice or mixed climbers can test themselves on the area's iconic routes.

This year's ice fest will be held February 12 to 15, 2016.
