Watch Alex Megos on the first foreign ascent (FFA) of Ben Moon’s infamous Hubble (8c+ 5.14c) at Raven Tor in the Peak District, U.K.
Moon established Hubble on June 4, 1990 as the world’s first 8c+ (5.14c)—far ahead of its time—and some climbers consider
it to be even harder. Throughout its 26-year history, Hubble had only been repeated by five climbers, all Brits, before Megos—who
became the first non-British climber to redpoint Hubble.
“8c+, 9a+ or 8b+. Who cares?! It's the name that counts! And the name is HUBBLE!” Megos posted on Instagram after his ascent. “It's a piece of
history! Thanks Ben Moon for putting up that thing and for having a vision! A vision for what is possible, the next step!”
