Jimmy Webb has made the second ascent of Nalle Hukkataival’s Kintsugi (V15) in Mud Springs Canyon, Red
Rock, Nevada. The boulder problem is one of two V15s in the area, along with The Nest, which Webb climbed in 2013.
“Feels so damn good to do this boulder. Hands down one of the best lines you will see anywhere,” Webb reported on Instagram. “Cheers again to [Nalle Hukkataival]
for establishing this beast and [Andy Raether] for hiking endlessly to find it.”
Hukkataival opened the tall and committing line in January 2015.
He named it Kintsugi after the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, and reported that it “climbs like a dream, but it’s also
damn hard and BIG!!”
Webb blasted through Red Rock on his way to Yosemite Valley, where he’s already checked “one of the lifetime list,” he reported, with an ascent of Chris
Sharma’s Dominated (V13) yesterday, and today, he laid down the first ascent of Happier Days (V13).
“Unfortunately our short trip here in the Valley has come to an end. Had an eye opening experience though to say the least!” Webb reported on Instagram.
“So many amazing boulders here with so much room for potential … I can't wait to return to this paradise!”
